Local resident Geoff Coop recounts his incident packed crossing of the Atlantic as skipper of a small sailing boat with 3 friends. Told with consummate skill and with the lightest of touch this is a story to delight everyone, boatie or not. Nothing technical, simply an amusing yet thought provoking story of 4 fifty-plus year olds having an unexpected Boy’s Own adventure. Storm, sea monsters, the scourge of the Doldrums and a modern Marie Celeste - yes they are all there. Not to be missed.

Geoff's story will be followed by a classic film of seafaring adventures in Nelson's day. The very small entrance fee will be donated to Rotary Shelterbox.

The next step forward for the Blue walnut is now to open on Sunday mornings for cooked lazy bereakfasts. Is there anywhere in Torquay that you can slob about reading the sunday rag over a full English. (yes there is but I'n not saying). There will still be a film on Sunday Mornings but the cafe will run until 1.00pm (last orders 12.30)

Local film maker John Tomkins gives the second showing of his entry to this years Manhattan Short Film Festival. The film centres on the intense pressure of being a celebrity. John will follow this with a performance of his music written for the film and for his forthcoming film 'Like an Angel'
